easyJet’s announcement that it is launching Tel Aviv – Gatwick flights comes only two weeks after the carrier said that Tel Aviv – Berlin flights will be inaugurated on February 4, 2014.
Tel Aviv – Gatwick will be the 7th route easyJet operates from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport. Currently easyJet offers flights from Tel Aviv to London Luton (up to 11 frequencies per week), Manchester (2-3 a week), Geneva (5 times a week), Basel (4 times a week), Rome (twice a week) and Berlin (3 times a week).
easyJet UK commercial manager Hugh Aitken said, “easyJet as a committed partner to the Israeli tourism industry and economy, continues to grow in Tel Aviv. Increasing the number of travelers for business and leisure between Tel Aviv and our top destinations in Europe is one of our goals.”
He added, “In the past twelve months easyJet has flown 320, 000 passengers into and out of Tel Aviv. These great figures show a vote of confidence from our loyal customers that appreciate our affordable prices and excellent service. We are sure that with the new offers from easyJet we’ll see the numbers getting even higher.”
The new routes will make easyJet the second largest foreign carrier operating out of Ben Gurion Airport.
