Former Congressman Barney Frank Talks Presidential Elections

barney frank

Former U.S. Congressman Barney Frank was a real media whore when he served in the House, never turning down an opportunity to be interviewed by a news channel. So why should anything be different in his “retirement.”

Frank is now criticizing Republican Presidential Candidate Senator Rand Paul. This is now surprise since Frank is a liberal Democrat.

In reference to Paul’s opposition to the renewal of the PAtriot Act, Frank told the Huffington Post, “I think Rand Paul sincerely believes what he says. On the other hand, my right to marry my husband is not one of the civil liberties that Sen. Paul was prepared to recognize, so I’m not ready to grant him the total crown.”

“What will now happen is Paul will be swept aside, ” he added. “Paul does not want to see the USA Freedom Bill … that’s now going to get adopted over Paul’s objection.”

On President Obama’s push for the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, Frank said, “He’s [Obama] dealing with the people who want to kill every other part of his agenda, and giving them what they most want — trade — without getting anything in return, ” Frank said. “Let’s do a little trading at home.”
