Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat has harshly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu Tuesday, saying that the prime minister broke his public promise not to appoint a minister to the Jerusalem Affairs Ministry.
Netanyahu appointed Immigrant Absorption Minister Ze’ev Elkin as minister of Jerusalem and Diaspora affairs as compensation after Elkin had to give up the Strategic Affairs portfolio in favor of Gilad Erdan.
