A group of Technion students from the departments of Mechanical Engineering and Architecture and Town Planning have constructed a Rube Goldberg machine, inspired by the themes of the Passover Haggadah.
“We wanted the machine to display central holiday themes: the Red Sea, Moses in the wicker basket, the ten plagues and the burning bush, ” said Nadav Maccabi, a third year student at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering. “We worked on the construction of the machine about a week. The ideas were mine and Yaron Wexler’s, who also studies mechanical engineering.”

Wexler and Maccabi led the project, joined by other students. Design and artistic motifs were handled by Hadar Edri and Adi Alhallal, both students at the Dept. of Architecture and City Planning.
“The holiday story is presented here through the integration of the machine’s engineering elements and the visual and artistic elements, ” Maccabi added. “I am very pleased with the result, and my family will be showing this clip at the Seder.”
