Andy Cohen: Real Housewives of NJ to Continue without Teresa Giudice

So what does a reality show do when its star gets way too real to handle outside a federal prison?

Andy Cohen and Teresa Giudice (L)
Last March, Teresa and Joe Giudice entered a guilty plea to 41 counts of fraud, following a deal struck with federal prosecutors. The couple was accused of engaging in bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud, netting more thanr $5 million over a 10-year period. In October, Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in a federal prison—Joe got 41-months, after which he will probably be deported to Italy. The couple also has to pay $414, 000 in restitution.

Teresa Giudice is also the star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (she’s also written three New York Times bestseller cookbooks and was a contestant on Donald Trump’s The Celebrity Apprentice).

The person with the answer to that question is Bravo executive Andy Cohen, who spoke to US Weekly during the 12th Annual Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards.

We missed it this year, by the way. Darn.

Is there a way to include Giudice while she’s behind bars? Andy Cohen said: “I don’t know the specifics of what they allow, but I can’t see them allowing [us to film people visiting her in prison].”

Who knows, maybe they can run part of the show on CCTV? Can’t get more real than that!

Cohen did say he’s not giving up on the show. “Anything is possible, ” he said. “There’s a lot of people in New Jersey.”

Yes there is. Including Teresa’s husband Joe Giudice and their four daughters, Gia, Milania, Audriana, and Gabriella.

The feds are permitting the Giudices to serve out their sentences consecutively, meaning Joe is staying home with the kids until Teresa is released, at which point she’ll take over.

Go for it, Andy, squeeze this orange dry!
