Investigators probing the death of Jewish-Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman will hear the testimony of Antonio Stiusso, a former intelligence officer, on Thursday, Argentine Agencia Diarios y Noticias (DyN) is reporting.

And, while the investigation of Nisman’s mysterious death continues, the late prosecutor’s ex-wife, Judge Sandra Arroyo Salgado has revealed that she had been sent a death threat against her husband, one day before his demise.

It turns out that Argentina’s Noticias magazine ran a cover story that week on Nisman’s case against President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Nisman’s ex discovered that someone had tampered with her copy, specifically her former husband’s photo.

A black mark in the shape of a bullet hole was painted on the prosecutor’s forehead.

Nisman was found dead in his apartment just over two weeks ago, with a gunshot wound to the head, the day before he was to testify in Congress about his accusations against Kirchner. Nisman was going to say that the president collaborated in whitewashing to role of Iranian high officials in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that killed 85.

Nisman’s death, initially ruled a suicide, has shaken Argentina’s public, with rumors and accusations of foul play.

On Tuesday, it was announced that investigators had found in Nisman’s apartment, not far from his dead body, a draft detention request against the President.

Kirchner’s government has been claiming that Nisman’s allegations, as well as his untimely death, stemmed from rival factions in a power struggle inside the country’s intelligence agency, where several officials had been let go in a December shake-up.

Stiusso, a senior intelligence officer, was one of those who were fired. He had been helping Nisman in his investigation of the bombing. The government has been accusing Stiusso of feeding Nisman false information.

According to DyN, Stiusso is expected testify at 9 AM EST, in Buenos Aires.

The chief investigator of Nisman’s death, Viviana Fein, wants to interrogate Stiusso regarding calls received and made on Nisman’s telephone before his death, according to DyN.
