Thanks to strong international growth, Netflix ended the year with 57.4 million subscribers to its streaming service. While domestic subscriber growth slowed down to 17% year-over-year, Netflix added 2.4 million subscribers outside the United States between October and December. Netflix expects to finish the ongoing quarter with 61.4 million subscribers, as its international expansion continues.
In the third quarter of 2014, Netflix had added fewer subscribers than widely expected, causing the company’s stock to take a nosedive. This quarter, Netflix shareholders were more content – the stock price is currently up more than 17%.
