Amid the blistering allegations that convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein coerced a then underaged woman known as Jane Doe No. 3 to have sex with Alan Dershowitz, Prince Andrew and other high profile figures, a spokes person for the prince has responded. Buckingham Palace issued a statement, according to the New York Times, “This relates to longstanding and ongoing civil proceedings in the United States to which the Duke of York is not a party. As such, we would not comment on the detail. However, for the avoidance of doubt, any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue.”
Prince Andrew resigned as ambassador for British businesses abroad in 2011 after revelations of his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, who was sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2008, a sentence that was shortened because of a plea deal. In fact, this plea deal is the reason the case has come up again, as the lawyer for the three women who claimed Epstein abused them as minors complained the victims were not consulted while the agreement was being made. Brad Edwards, attorney for the women, said their not having been consulted was “outrageous” and that their rights were being violated.

Jane Doe No.3 claims that Epstein forced her to have sex with Prince Andrew in the Virgin Islands when she was 15 years old and instructed her to give him a detailed report so he could use the information as fodder for blackmail. She said she also was forced to have sex with Alan Dershowitz. The celebrity Harvard lawyer says the claims should not be believed, since the victim allegedly lied about other cases, and denied the accusations as “categorically and unequivocally untrue.” Dershowitz has threatened to have lawyers involved in the suit disbarred for not validating information.
