David Schwimmer finally landed a new television role. He is set to play the late lawyer Robert Kardashian – father of the famous for no reason Kim – in a new TV miniseries about the OJ trial.
Remember when David Schwimmer was one of America’s biggest television stars back in the 90’s when he was on friends? Unfortunately for him he is now known as the only one of that show’s 6 stars to have done nothing else.

Jennifer Aniston has been far the most successful of the group with a number of hit movies. Courtney Cox was in the Scream movies and had another TV show on for five years after Friends. Lisa Kudrow has The Comeback on HBO. Mathew Perry has another new show coming this spring, a remake of The Odd Couple and Mathew Leblanc has had the Showtime/British show Episodes.
But what has Schwimmer done?
Now all he has gotten is a small supporting role in the new FX true-crime anthology series American Crime Story. The first season will deal with the legendary OJ trial from 1995 and will star Cuba Gooding Junior as O. J. Simpson. The miniseries will be based on the book about the trial called The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin.
While having made plenty of small appearances in movies and television shows over the years, Schwimmer’s only notable roles came while Friends was still on the air, both in 2001. First there was his portrayal off an incompetent company commander in HBO’s Band of Brothers about a group of US paratroopers during World War II. Then there was Uprising, a TV movie about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising during the Holocaust.
