Jamie Lee Curtis has been named to star in Scream Queens, a new horror-comedy television series from Ryan Murphy. She will be joined by Emma Roberts.
The daughter of Tony Curtis (AKA Bernard Herschel Schwartz) is a natural fit for a spoof of the horror genre as she began her career in the 1970s staring in films like Halloween. Back then she was known as the “Scream Queen.”

Coming on the heels of the success of American Horror Story, which boasts a different cast each season, Fox has ordered the new anthology series which will center on two different lead characters in each season. Roberts and Curtis will be the leads of the first season which will premiere in the fall of 2015 and have 15 episodes. It will be set on a college campus.
Emma Roberts had herself appeared on American Horror Story.
Most recently Curtis has been seen in a recurring role on the sitcom New Girl and the TV movie Only Human. Her next feature film will be Spare Parts with Marisa Tomei about a group of Hispanic high school students who develop robots and enter a robotic competition. It is due out next January.
