Shutl Brings Delivery Into the 21st Century

Print

Shutl is a startup that is bringing the delivery industry into the 21th century. While the internet has been in common use for nearly a generation, the process of delivering items hasn’t quite caught up, according to PYMNT.com. Products are still taken from warehouses to distribution centers to the customer. Shutl, which was acquired by eBay, uses local couriers to speed up the process, and facilitates company to customer delivers that are in relatively short distances.

Shutl is the brainchild of Tom Allason, who founded eCourier in 2003 for business-t0-business deliveries. Many deliveries are within 24 hours of an online order, and some are as quick as 90  minutes.

The company is headquartered in the U.K. and when it unveiled a new premium service for use in the United States, according to Pymnt.com, Tom Allason proposed the tagline, “The world’s fastest delivery service for the world’s most impatient people.” The PR team, understandably, rejected the idea.
