U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jordan’s king Abdullah in Amman Thursday evening, to discuss the growing unrest in Jerusalem, Kerry’s deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said.
“They will focus on ways to restore calm and de-escalate tensions in Jerusalem, ” Harf said.

The talks follow a meeting earlier Thursday between the top U.S. diplomat and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
Netanyahu spoke a week ago with King Abdullah about the events on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Netanyahu stressed Israel’s commitment to maintaining the status quo on the Temple Mount, in accordance with the peace treaty between the two countries, which appeared to match Jordan’s position, once you removed the PR decoration.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that “the two leaders called for the immediate end to all acts of violence and incitement.”
