If you are tired of all the anti-Israel boycotts and want to do something about it then there is a new app for you. Am Yisrael Buy helps users find products that were specifically made in Israel to buy.
The name is obviously a play on the Hebrew phrase “Am Yisrael Chai” which means “long live the Nation of Israel.”

Available for both Google Android and iOS systems, Am Yisrael Buy was designed by Rabbi Daniel Cohen and first released in September. It also offers people the opportunity to follow the latest news from Israel.
Rabbi Daniel M. Cohen, 49, is the spiritual leader of Reform Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange, N.J.
“There is an international movement called BDS – Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions – aimed at boycotting Israel and its products, ” said Cohen. “The movement demonizes Israel and has, as some of its leading proponents, anti-Semites whose ultimate goal is the destruction of the State of Israel.”
Cohen’s synagogue is funding the app. Cohen said that he also got help from some of his fellow rabbis.
“When I learned there are BDS apps that make it easier to boycott Israeli products and goods and spread their hatred, and then found there was no commensurate pro-Israel app, I just had to act. That was the impetus for creating Am Yisrael Buy.”
Cohen also got the idea to also use the app to help people keep track of what is happening in Israel. “As I was putting together the list I realized there were other ways to support Israel, so I added a section with some of the media outlets that cover Israel, outlets that help expose media bias against Israel, and included a number of ways people can donate to pro-Israel organizations, ” he said.
