Israelis, especially in Jerusalem, have been unhappy with the proliferation of new luxury condominium buildings that have been going up in recent years and which cater to wealthy foreigners who only occupy the apartments for at most a few weeks out of the year. They feel that this has come at the expense of hard working Israelis who are having trouble finding affordable homes in their nation’s capital.
