Allot Service Gateway Tera is a high-performance DPI-based platform built to power the deployment of Digital Lifestyle Services in fixed and mobile data networks that are on the path to software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud-based network services (NFV).
The company stated that its Service Gateway Tera was chosen because of its integrated services and extreme scalability, which support high density of 10GE ports suitable for large scale networks. Among the services ordered are Allot ServiceProtector for safeguarding against distributed denial of service (DDoS) cyber-attacks and Allot ClearSee Data Source solution to provide rich data sources for different applications.
“We are pleased to see that the Allot Service Gateway Tera is continuing to gain momentum, success and adoption among the world’s top operators, ” said Andrei Elefant, President and CEO of Allot Communications. “Additionally, our value-added services – Allot ServiceProtector and Allot ClearSee Data Source – provide critical capabilities for operators that desire top-notch security protection as well as advanced analytics that turns big data into meaningful business intelligence for better decision-making.”
In other Allot news, the firm announced last week that it received a follow-on order from a Tier-1 global telecommunications group to an existing contract, which will enable the operator to deliver streaming music services to over 30 million subscribers in multiple markets globally.
Allot asserted that by using its intelligent charging capabilities, the Tier-1 operator will be able to offer flexible application-centric plans to meet growing usage and service demand driven by the streaming music service.
Gary Drutin, Allot Chief Customer Officer, commented on the deal that, “Operators must become digital lifestyle providers in order to meet the needs of today’s savvy users and remain competitive in today’s environment. Allot is playing a key role in this operator’s strategy to differentiate his offering by delivering zero-rated Over The Top (OTT) applications such as music and social networks.”
