The structure will be nine stories tall, with 128, 364 square feet out of which 99, 404 square feet are commercial space—and that includes a gallery on the first two levels—and 28, 960 square feet are “community facility.”
Unlike most projects near the High Line, which are for the most part residential, 540 West 26th Street will take advantage of the neighborhood’s boutique office market, according to YIMBY, which points out that West Chelsea has a lot to offer in comparison with the much exposed ventures at Hudson Yards and the Meatpacking District.
Adjmi’s design has large casement windows and a metallic facade, with a simple envelope matching the street-wall. The building’s glass walls is sure to appeal to the Chelsea crowd.
