Gene Simmons, known for his face painting, stage antics, musical accomplishments and once (or twice) in interviews bragging about his 4, 800 sexual exploits wants his friends and others to know that he is not handing out free therapy. The KISS lead said that one reason he doesn’t hang around with former band members is that “They are either drug addicts or just downers. I don’t get along with anybody who is a drug addict and has a dark cloud over their head and sees themselves as a victim.”

Simmons continued: “Drug addicts and alcoholics are always, ‘The world is a harsh place.’ My mother was in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. I don’t want to hear f-k all about how the world is a harsh place. She gets up every day, smells the roses and loves life.”
“And for a putz, 20-year old kid to say, ‘I’m depressed. I live in Seattle.’ I say, ‘Well f-k you. Then kill yourself.’ I never understand. I always call them on their bluff. I’m the guy who always says “Jump, ” when there’s a guy on a building who says , ‘That’s it. I’m going to jump. I can’t take it anymore.’ ‘Are you kidding? Why are you announcing it? Shut the f-k up, have some dignity and Jump. You’ve got the crowd.”
I wonder if David Lee Roth and the rest of Van Halen would like to hear Gene Simmons cover their 80s hit “Jump.”
