Irving Azoff And Billboard's Editorial Director Bill Werde In conversation At The 2012 Billboard Touring Conference

Revered music titan Irving Azoff has signed Gwen Stefani and No Doubt for management, Billboard reports.

Stefani, 44, and No Doubt, the band she fronts, were reportedly being courted by multiple managers after they had parted ways with Rebel Waltz Management’s Jim Guerinot, their manager since 1998. Rumors suggested Azoff would take over management duties after he helped land Stefani a role as a judge on the NBC hit show The Voice – and now it’s official.

Azoff, who was named “the most powerful person in the music industry” on Billboard’s “Power 100” list in 2012, handles the careers of roughly 200 top artists, including Christina Aguilera, the Eagles, Van Halen, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Kings of Leon and The Voice’s third season winner Cassadee Pope.

The news comes a few days after Azoff MSG Entertainment (AMSGE) – a newly-minted joint venture between Azoff Music Management and Jim Dolan’s Madison Square Garden Company – announced it had acquired a 50 percent stake in L. A. –based Levity Entertainment Group, a multifaceted firm which owns and operates a chain of comedy venues across the U.S. and represents a roster of stand-up comics.

Gwen Stefani will replace Azoff’s client Aguilera on the seventh season of The Voice in the fall, alongside new coach Pharrell Williams and The Voice veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Stefani has sold nearly 30 million records worldwide with No Doubt and as a solo artist. Her last solo tour in 2007 grossed $31.5 million and sold over 670, 000 tickets to 57 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. In 2009, No Doubt reported  $22.6 million and nearly 500, 000 attendance from 36 shows in North America arenas and amphitheaters, according to Boxscore.
