Two Israeli start-ups, Take&Make and Morpheus, will participate in the spring 2014 immersion program of Blackbox Connect in Silicon Valley. Fadi Bishara founded Blackbox Connect and was joined by Google for Entrepreneurs in 2013.
The two Israeli start-ups in the Spring program will join 14 other companies from France, Egypt, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, and other countries. The participants were selected from hundreds of applications from around the world.
Take&Make, a platform for DIY craft workshops, graduated from Genesis Partners’ The Junction program. It was founded by CEO Mika Kayt, CTO Yossi Shalem, and CMO Liri Halperin, who are seeking to introduce innovation to the DIY market by creating online workshops for crafts.
“This program is the fantasy of every start-up, ” says Halperin. “You’re flown to Silicon Valley, meet mentors and industry executives who give you feedback about your product and arrange meetings with potential investors.”
Morpheus, founded by Tania Dam-Bukovza, uses 3D modeling and printing to recreate lost or designer pieces of jewelry, custom made by craftspeople from around the world.
Inpris Ltd., founded by Nissan Yaron, participated in the Blackbox Connect program in 2013. The company is developing a braille touch-screen keyboard.
