Herb Alpert Legendary musician and no mean amateur sculptor has unveiled his largest and most grandiose creations to date, three giant totem sculptures, which Alpert has named “Spirit Totems”, inspired by the totem poles created by Native Indians that have been the focus of  visitor attractions across the Pacific Northwest of North America for decades.

Alpert’s tribute to Native Americans and their culture comes in the form of three impressive  totem pole inspired sculptures-  “Grace, ” “Freedom, ” and “Gratitude, ” which is the tallest of the three coming in at  just over 17 feet tall.

“Grace, ” “Freedom, ” and “Gratitude, ” have all been sculptured in bronze, and finished in  black. Together they represent  more than thirteen years effort on the part of Alpert.

The sculptures recently went on display at Dante Park, situated adjacent to Manhattan’s Lincoln Center, and are due to remain there until mid April.
