Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced former Hollywood mogul and convicted rapist, is suing the car company Stellantis over a 2019 Jeep crash. This news comes as Weinstein is about to face trial yet again in a Los Angeles court for being a serial rapist and when British authorities announced plans to file charges against him for indecent assault.
The now 70 year old Harvey Weinstein filed a lawsuit against Fiat-Chrysler (FCA), which is owned by Stellantis, for $5 million over a crash he had while trying to avoid a deer somewhere in 2019. He was driving a Jeep Wrangler at the time. Weinstein claims that the accident left him “catastrophically injured and rendered paralyzed” with “significant and continuing conscious pain and suffering.” Weinstein’s lawyers have stated that he is “in constant pain, it’s debilitating.”
Weinstein maintains that he was seriously injured; even though, he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

One thing is certain, though. Harvey Weinstein has been taking full advantage of the crash over the years. He never misses an opportunity to be seen in need of a walker when seen in public – like during court appearances – in a shameless attempt to garner sympathy.
And just a few days ago a Los Angeles court set the date for Harvey Weinstein’s next rape trial, October 10. Weinstein stands charged with 11 more counts of rape. His lawyers say that the Los Angeles prosecutors are going to use the same tactic that the NY prosecutors used to convict him in his trial there: have people testify as to assaults they claim Weinstein committed against then; even though, he is not charged with those assaults.
“We have the same situation as in New York where the prosecution is going to be allowed to put on evidence of uncharged crimes which will confuse the jury, prejudice the jury, and basically deny him a fair trial,” said Harvey Weinstein’s lawyers.
And in more bad news for Harvey Weinstein, the British Crown Prosecutos office has announced plans to charge him with two counts of rape dating back to incidents that occurred in 1996. It is unlikely, however, that should there be a trial Weinstein will be allowed to attend. And he may not even live long enough to finish his current 20 year sentence in New York, so such charges would be moot anyway.
