Montfort (Mon4T), an Israel-based medical startup specializing in neurological disorders with real-time, remote brain monitor, is now offering tests for Post-COVID 19 with neurological symptoms.
The company’s FDA-approved technology leverages smartphones and AI to conduct digital neurological tests for patients with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, psychiatric disorders (like schizophrenia), as well as for patients with post-COVID19 symptoms. Coronavirus patients may present symptoms similar to neurological conditions.
“About one billion people around the world suffer from neurological and psychiatric disorders. Diagnostics and treatment setting are based upon short and infrequent clinical visits thus limiting patients’ quality of care and increasing treatment costs – about 800 Billion USD in the US alone”, says Dr. Ziv Yekutieli, Montfort Co-Founder and CEO.

According to Dr. Yekutieli, remote checkups were gaining traction, before the pandemic, but COVID-19 made them inevitable with patients hardly going to see their physicians.
Moreover, many countries are starting to reimburse remote monitoring costs, which adds a strong economic incentive for tele-medicine.
“Our App allows standard neurological examination to be conducted anytime, anywhere, using a standard smartphone.
Evaluating the subject at a random time in the clinic does not represent the actual status of the patient in his\her daily life, so physicians need to rely upon the subject’s self-report, which is also subjective. Montfort offers a platform for sampling the subject during his\her regular activity, thus filling in this gap.
The Montfort app comes in two versions: a clinical app to be used by the physician at the clinic, and a home version for patients to use in their natural environment. Indicators are provided in three dimensions: motor (static balance, gait, tremor etc.), cognitive (memory span, response time etc.), and affective (based upon movement and social interaction patterns).
Montfort is currently executing projects with hospitals and medical corporations in the US, Latin America, Israel and Europe
