United Kingdom: Minister of Health

Tom Hanks, actor

Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks, 63, and his wife, Rita Wilson, have been diagnosed with coronavirus while filming in Australia.

The couple is currently on the Gold Coast in Queensland filming Baz Luhrmann’s production about Elvis Presley.

Hanks became the first celebrity to go public with the diagnosis. He wrote on his Instagram account:

“Hello, folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx”

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert, NBA star

Rudy Gobert, (27) tested positive for coronavirus. According to league announcement, Rudy Gober, a Utah Jazz player has been diagnosed with the virus – and the two-team players have been instructed to go into isolation. Following the NBA League case, it announced it was suspending its operations “until further notice.”

Gobert wrote later:  “I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis … mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment. The first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At the time, I had no idea I was even infected.”

Donovan Mitchell, NBA star

Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell had also tested positive for the virus after Gobert was diagnosed with the virus.

Mitchell’s positive test was not known until early Thursday. Jazz players, staff and writers covering the team were all tested Wednesday night.

Daniele Rugani, Italian national soccer team star

Italian soccer club Juventus said on Wednesday, that defender Daniele Rugani has tested positive for coronavirus. Rugani is the first player in Italy’s top soccer league to test positive.

Sampdoria striker, Manolo Gabbiadini, was also testing positive.
