Pop icon Mariah Carey has been selected as the new presenter for an Israeli cosmetics company, bringing her on a short visit to the Dead Sea.
Israeli journalists showed special interest in Carey due to her previous visit in Israel with billionaire ex-fiance James Packer.

PM’s son hosted by Casino billionaire James Packer who is asking for permanent residency in Israel
Since that visit, James Packer’s name was raised in connection with wide-ranging corruption investigation against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In one case, called case 1000, Netanyahu alleged received gifts from Packer. And, the PM’s people had accepted free tickets from James Packer to one of Carey’s concerts.
One Journalist asked Carey about a dinner she has had with Packer and Netanyahu.
Did you notice if the pair had a particularly strong bond? he asked.
“I was eating the food, they had some food there that was pretty good … you know? I don’t know, I don’t know … I was just invited to a dinner,” she said.
Then he asked if she knew where Packer was now. (Israeli police can’t find the billionaire for questioning, I.S)
“I don’t know where the motherf**ker is, I don’t know! how am I suppose to know? He’s somewhere doing something,” she claimed.
“I really have no idea about the political stuff that goes on, I really don’t. I don’t pay attention to it.”
“I don’t really pay attention to politics…”
The reporter explained that the gift of concert tickets was “not allowed” and had caused quite a stir.
“Oh, now they want to blame me? Does someone want to blame me for something now? What did I do? I didn’t do anything. I concentrate on the singing and the show.”
Carey concluded: “That sucks. Honestly, I feel bad if that happened. I’m just trying to do me.”
