Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee Turned 94 this week. Comic book geeks and celebrities everywhere wished him well in Twitter.
Stan Lee was born Stanley Martin Lieber, December 28, 1922 in New York City to Romanian Jewish immigrants. He got his start at the ripe old age of 17 working for the Timely Comics division of pulp magazine and comic-book publisher Martin Goodman’s company. Stan then served in the army during World War II.

In 1961. Stan Lee’s first major hit came with the introduction of The Fantastic Four which is one of the most successful conic book franchises of all time. Unfortunately, it has not made for good movies. That same year saw the advent of the Marvel Comics label.
Lee would go on to create The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Spider Man Daredevil, Doctor Strange, The X Men and Daredevil. The last one has made for a hit drama series on Netflix. The others have all been made into box office blockbusters. Spider Man will soon have its sixth feature film in the series.

Marvel Comics Studios has made three hit Iron Man movies, Two Thor movies, with a third on the way, three Captain America movies and several Avengers films which put the super heroes together in a team. Collectively, Marvel Comics based films whose heroes were created by Stan Lee have grossed almost $10 billion worldwide.

Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow in the Avengers, Iron Man and Captain America movies and Chris Hemsworth who plays Thor. Three different actors have played The Hulk — Eric Bana, Ed Norton and Mark Ruffalo.
Stan Lee has been married for almost 70 years and has two children. The web site IMDB lists Lee as having 129 different television and movie writing credits as well as 100 different on camera appearances.
He also worked for D.C. Comics on some of their most famous super heroes like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
