Kaneka Corporation, a Japanese company, acquired a 96.8% stake in Israeli startup EndoStream Medical Ltd, an Israeli startup developing technologies in the field of cerebrovascular diseases. This acquisition aims to combine Kaneka’s manufacturing capabilities with EndoStream’s technology to jointly develop new medical devices, primarily for cerebrovascular treatment. While the purchase price was not disclosed, Calcalist estimated the value of EndoStream to be $100 million.

Cerebrovascular disease is a group of conditions that affect the blood vessels and blood supply to the brain. These conditions can cause a variety of problems, including stroke, which is a leading cause of death and disability in the United States.

There are many different types of cerebrovascular disease, but they all have one thing in common: they affect the flow of blood to the brain. This can happen when blood vessels become narrowed or blocked, or when they rupture and bleed. When brain cells don’t get enough blood, they can die, leading to a variety of symptoms depending on the location and severity of the damage.
