After US President Joe Biden announced his decision to drop out of the race for reelection this year many of Israel’s leaders and former leaders took to “X”/Twitter to declare their gratitude for the soon to be former president. That is except for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who waited until the next day to make any comment at all.
Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, just before taking off on his trip to Washington where he will meet with Joe Biden, made comments in which he first talked about himself saying, “At a time when Israel is fighting on seven fronts and when there’s great political uncertainty in Washington, I will address, for the fourth time, both houses of Congress as the Prime Minister of Israel. I will seek to anchor the bipartisan support that is so important for Israel.”
Then, speaking about Joe Biden, Benjamin Netanyahu said he has known the President for 40 years adding, “This will be an opportunity to thank him for the things he did for Israel in the war and during his long and distinguished career in public service, as Senator, as Vice President, and as President.”
