Israeli Startup Magnus Metal pioneering technology in digital casting for metal alloys

Magnus Metal is an Israeli startup that says it is pioneering technology in industrial, high volume digital casting for metal alloys. The firm raised $74 million in a Series B round of funding, co-led by Entrée Capital and Target Global. Magnus Metal will use the latest capital to “further develop its innovative casting technologies while expanding its operations locally and globally to support its Fortune 100 customers.” Digital casting is a new technology that is revolutionizing the way metal parts are manufactured. It combines the benefits of additive manufacturing (3D printing) with traditional casting to create a more efficient and flexible process. There are a few different ways that digital casting can be used for metal alloys. One common method is to use 3D printing to create a mold for the casting. This mold can then be used to cast multiple parts from the same alloy. This method is especially beneficial for complex geometries that would be difficult or expensive to create using traditional casting methods. Another way that digital casting can be used is to directly cast the metal part from a 3D printed mold. This method is still under development, but it has the potential to be even more efficient than traditional casting methods. Founded in 2017, MagnusMetalboasts that its team has” unprecedented experience” in everything from 3D printing to chemistry and metallurgy. The company’s team holds more than 80 patents combined. Magnus embarks on a mission to bring traditional casting into the 21st century with the patent-pending Digital Casting solution. Magnus Metal

Magnus Metal has developed the Digital Casting TM which blends the benefits taken from both Additive Manufacturing (AM) and traditional casting, while avoiding the typical associated deficiencies – this enables a streamlined supply-chain, digital inventory and remote manufacturing hubs.
