Former President Doald Trump issued a new year’s greeting to America’s Jewish community on the eve of the Rosh Hashanah holiday that began Friday night. In his message to America’s Jews, Donald Trump reminded them of what he said were the things he did for Israel and the Jewish community while accusing those who voted for Joe Biden in the last election of “destroying” America.
Perhaps Mr. Trump has forgotten all of the things that he did when in office that aided racist and anti-Semitic groups. When Nazis marched in South Carolina and attacked innocent people shouting “Jews will not replace us,” Donald Trump not only failed to condemn them, he even encouraged them. Trump famously said that there were good people there on “both sides.”
Trump also welcomed the support of anti-Semitic extremist groups during his failed re-election bid in 2020.

In a posting on his “Truth” social media platform – one the former President established after he was banned by others due to hate speech – Donald Trump declared, “Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel because you believed in false narratives!” Trump provided five examples.
“Let’s hope you learned from your mistake & make better choices moving forward!” added Trump. Happy New Year!”
“Wake Up Sheep. What Nazi / Anti Semite ever did this for the Jewish people or Israel?” said Trump in an attempt to cover up his poor behavior on racism and anti-Semitism while in office.
At the top of Donald Trump’s list was the fact that he moved the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. “No other president had the balls to do it,” said Trump.
Number two was Trump’s recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. Number three on the list was his recognition of Israeli sovereignty over settlements in the West Bank.
The list also mentions how on Hanukkah, 2019, Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring Judaism not just a religion, but also an ethnicity or nationality.
“This action makes clear that Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits the federal funding of universities and other institutions that engage in discrimination, applies to institutions that traffic in anti-Semitic hate,” said Trump at the time.
“This is our message to universities: If you want to accept the tremendous amount of federal dollars that you get every year, you must reject anti-Semitism,” he added.
Finally, Donald trump cited how in May 2020, he signed the “Never Again” education act, which provided $10 million in funding for Holocaust education in the US. The funds are being administered over five years by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
But Trump cannot take credit for bringing forward that last deed on his own. It was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives by unanimous consent, with support from both Democrats and Republicans.
Interestingly, the former President is currently not speaking with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is because Netanyahu not only “failed” to acknowledge Trump’s claims that the 2020 elections were “stolen,” but he also committed the unforgivable act of actually calling Joe Biden personally to congratulate the current President on his win.
This is ironic because Joe Biden has been highly critical of Israel’s Prime Minister since Benjamin Netanyahu returned to office at the end of 2022. At odds is the controversial judicial reform proposed by Netanyahu’s government. If anything, these days the two could help one another politically.
