Neteera, an Israeli medtech startup, raised $13 million in a Series B funding round led by Aescuvest, a healthcare investment firm. And Viridix, an Israeli agtech startup, raised $4.1 million. In 2019 the company raised $2.35 million in a seed round.

Founded in 2017, Viridix is a precision irrigation company that says it is dedicated to helping growers optimize their water use and increase their crop yields. The company boasts that its cloud-based decision support system uses cutting-edge technology to provide real-time insights into plant health and soil moisture levels, allowing growers to automate their irrigation protocols and reduce water waste. With Viridix, growers can save water, increase their profits, and help build a more sustainable future for agriculture.

Water is fast becoming the most precious commodity in the world. Climate change and over production of just about everything has seen water sources worldwide drying up. Soon water conservation will be just about the most important thing in the world. And what nation other than Israel, a desert nation known for its agtech innovation, is better suited to be at the forefront of such water conservation tech?

A sensor determines how much energy is the plant expending to draw water from the soil. This data is transmitted in real time to an IoT device, along with the full spectrum of “plant vital sign indicators”, and from there to the cloud, where the sophisticated analytics are immediately translated into the most user-friendly action items.

“We are thrilled to have the support of our investors, both new and existing, as we continue our mission to bring affordable precision irrigation knowledge to farmers all over the world,” said Arik Shetrit, CEO of Viridix. “This will help our goal of creating food security and protecting our environment for future generations.

Viridix’s Gen3 Auto-Pilot systems comprised of Viridix’s RooTense®, a proprietary and patented water potential sensor that mimics the plant roots and provides real time data, alongside the company’s unique AI-based software that aggregates the RooTense® data with external data from other sources and analyzes it all to provide operational insights, enabling the system to make and act on autonomous decisions.

Designed for farmers who want to push their irrigation capabilities to the next level, Viridix Gen3 Auto-Pilot now connects, in addition to the RooTense® sensors to water pressure sensors, air humidity and temperature sensors, and remote watering controllers. The advanced and easy-to-use platform provides unparalleled effectiveness through a holistic autonomous solution for optimized precision irrigation.

Founded in 2015, Neteera’s novel technology is based on the detection of electromagnetic emissions from sweat ducts, enables reliable and speedy biometric identification, along with monitoring of other physiological parameters, such as, stress, fatigue, pain, alcohol influence, drug abuse detection, and medical diagnostics. These can be remotely monitored with a unique sub-terahertz (THz) imaging camera.

“We are thrilled to partner with Aescuvest and Omega as we continue to develop and scale our game changing solution,” said Neteera CEO, Isaac Litman. “With this funding and with the Omega strategic partnership, we will be able to expand our reach and accelerate our mission to improve patient outcomes while reducing the burden on clinical staff.”
