The 15th Playtika Tel Aviv Marathon was held on Friday. The marathon was organized by the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality and produced by Kapaim. The Playtika Tel Aviv marathon included six urban routes mapped throughout the city – a full marathon, a half marathon, a 10km race, a 5km race and a hand bike race.
As part of the “Breaking records” initiative in the Playtika Tel Aviv marathon, Luna Chemtai Salpeter crossed the finish line at 31:31. In doing so, Chemtai Salpeter failed to break the world record this time, which still belongs to Agnes Tirop, and stands at 30:01 minutes. Chamtai Salpeter ran alongside senior runners in Israel and the world, in a special 10km event for women. The running route was a flat and fast course. Thousands of people watched and cheered the runners on along the course. A team from the Israeli and World Athletics Association came to the marathon and made sure that all the required regulations were observed.
The full marathon winners were Mibei Dominic Kipngeno at 02:10:11 (male) Njuguna Margaret at 02:42:40 (female)

Playtika was founded in 2010, by Robert Antokol and Uri Shahak (the son of former Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli Minister Amnon Lipkin-Shahak). Robert Antokol still serves from the beginning as CEO, and chairman since June 2020. The company currently has a market cap of almost $3.5 billion. This is way down of its one-time $11 billion valuation.
Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Mr. Ron Huldai: “We are happy that the Playtika Tel Aviv Marathon continues to occupy an important place among the main running events in the world, through initiatives such as the attempt to break a world record. Luna sets the bar high and thereby marks the Playtika Tel Aviv Marathon as a place where it is proper and right to strive for breaking personal and group records. We were happy to see, once again, the tens of thousands of participants in the largest and most important sports event in Israel, here in Tel Aviv-Yafo. Thank you for the participation and the many, happy and colorful presence of the cheerleaders throughout the city.”
