Two Israeli startups just held small seed fundraises. Gem Security, an Israeli cybersecurity startup, raised $11 million in Seed funding led by Team8 and Addressable, an Israeli startup that offers an end-to-end solution for Web3 marketing, raised $7.5 million in a Seed round led by Viola Ventures and Fabric Ventures.

Founded in 2022 by CEO Arie Zilberstein, CTO Ron Konigsberg and VP of Product Ofir Brukne, Gem boasts that the company delivers a centralized approach to tackle cloud native threats, from incident readiness, through real-time threat detection, investigation and response at the speed of cloud. The company today has just 20 employees, but hopes to use some of the new funds to double in size.

Zilberstein co-founded Gem Security with CTO Ron Konigsberg and VP Product Ofir Brukner. Gem’s founders are all security industry veterans, having spent years in the trenches responding to large-scale breaches in the cloud. They previously held key roles in elite Israeli Intelligence Corps Unit 8200 as well as Sygnia, an Incident Response and cybersecurity company working with global top tier organizations.

“Most cloud security solutions focus on building a wall that is as tall as possible to make sure the bad guys stay out,” said Gem Security Co-Founder and CEO Arie Zilberstein. “That sounds good in theory. In practice, however, no wall is ever going to be tall enough. We offer a more realistic approach, starting from the fact that cloud environments are and will remain imperfect. If it’s perfect, it’s only for five minutes, and then it’s going to be imperfect again. Minimizing the potential for intrusion is only half the story. When someone jumps over the wall, we don’t just raise an alarm. Gem’s platform will empower your team to find and stop the intruder, automating your incident response and ensuring there is no escalation. Where others end, we begin.”

Addressable says that it boosts user acquisition for Web3 brands. The company boasts an “innovative platform” that bridges the gap between blockchain and social media, by targeting a Web3 audience where they hang out. The company adds that its SaaS offering enables marketing teams to build audiences, launch campaigns and track their growth, providing best return for your marketing investment. Its mission is to empower Web3 marketers to effectively connect with their audience by overcoming the anonymity barrier of blockchains.

“Marketing is all about knowing your audience, but since crypto wallets are anonymized by design, Web3 marketers rarely know their audience’s age, country, or purchasing history,” said Dr. Asaf Nadler, co-founder and chief scientist at Addressable. “In the face of anonymity, our solution allows Web3 marketers to associate anonymous blockchain audiences with social media activity, ultimately addressing the most significant barrier to Web3 growth today.”
