Jared Kushner Had Thyroid Cancer While Working at White House

Jared Kushner says that he was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer when he was a White House staffer serving under his father-in-law former President Donald trump. The husband of Ivanka Trump makes the revelation in his upcoming new book “Breaking History: A White House Memoir,” which is due out on August 23.

But why reveal this now? Jared Kushner may be looking for some sympathy here. It was recently revealed that Kushner took advantage of his senior White House position to get a $2 billion deal for his new investment firm from Saudi backers.

And with all the money that Jared Kushner is making these days, he certainly does not need the book money. So his book is probably just a way to present his story and to try and improve his image that was so badly damaged by his obvious incompetence during the Covid crisis.

The now 41 year old Jared Kushner talks about this in the 37th chapter of his book. The diagnosis came in the fall of 2019, at a time Kushner says that he was involved in trade negotiations with Chinese officials.

Jared Kushner tells the story of how he first got the bad news as follows: “As this high-wire act of trade talks with the Chinese progressed, I had to confront an unexpected and frightening personal problem.”

“On the morning that I traveled to Texas to attend the opening of a Louis Vuitton factory, White House physician Sean Conley pulled me into the medical cabin on Air Force One. ‘Your test results came back from Walter Reed,’ he said. ‘It looks like you have cancer. We need to schedule a surgery right away.’”

“The next morning, I told Ivanka what I knew. With as much confidence as I could conjure, I told her not to be concerned. Whatever this was, we would find a way to work through it.”

Jared Kushner also tries to put a human face on Donald Trump. He recounts how Trump told him before Kushner had surgery, “You’ll be just fine. Don’t worry about anything with work. We have everything covered here.” But this makes it seem that Donald Trump was really only thinking about how Kushner’s illness would affect his White House work.
