NY Representative Max Rose In Tight Reelection Bid

Congressman Max Rose

Max Rose, a first term Democrat from Staten Island, is in a tight race for a second term. His opponent is Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican member of the New York State Assembly. He represents New York’s 11th Congressional District.

Congressman Rose, 33, is a Jewish US Army veteran who served in Afghanistan.
He served as an active duty officer in Afghanistan from 2012-2013 and earned a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantry Badge. Max Rose is Ranger-qualified and continues to serve in the National Guard and is the first post-9/11 combat veteran to represent New York City.

Following his Army service, Congressman Rose worked as Director of Public Engagement and Special Assistant to the late Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson.

Nicole Malliotakis has the endorsement of President Donald Trump. She also made a failed bid for Mayor of New York in the 2017 elections.

She has made Congressman Rose’s support of the impeachment a key issue in her campaign. Staten Island is largely Republican and the 11th Congressional District voted for Trump over Hillary Clinton by more than 10 points in 2016.

So Congressman Max Rose has needed to defend his vote last year to impeach President Trump. He stated, “That the president would target an American citizen, utilize the state to advance his political interest. For me that did rise to the threshold of impeachment.”

One of his tactics has been to also separate himself from the very much unpopular Democratic Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio. He attacked Mayor de Blasio in a six second ad:

“Bill de Blasio is the worst mayor in the history of New York City. That’s the whole ad,” he says.

And in an interview with NBC News Max Rose said, “Bill de Blasio’s failed leadership, it was driving New York City into the gutter.”

Congressman Max Rose has also created a website dedicated to condemning Nicole Malliotakis, which accuses her of being a fraud and always talking out of both sides of her mouth.

And here is a TV ad in support of Congressman Max Rose in which people say that his opponent is lying about him:

  1. I can’t believe almost everything we get bothered about in our lives
matters. At all times invested in taking into consideration the assorted things that people face just about every working day is without question undoubtedly necessary,
as no other woman is going to encounter life for any
of us. I feel that people young and old should
be more grounded. Science is splendid, but so much of what we should think
about is so abstract. Having a cup of tea is a zen activity that takes one back
to the present second. We must become more in the here and now, without being overcome by life and the
dilemmas we confront every day. http://mlva.i2bc.paris-saclay.fr/MLVAnet/spip.php?page=recherche&recherche=http%3A%2F%2FB.e.rthaEll.i.ott5.
