Kim Kardashian Sacha Baron Cohen Katy Perry Mark Ruffalo And More Quit Facebook, Instagram – The World Mourns

Leading artists such as Judd Apatow, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, Jason Alexander, and Scooter Braun have shared the call for the Instagram Freeze

Kim Kardashian is leading a bunch of celebrities in a protest campaign against Facebook and its sister company Instagram. The celebs who also include singer Katy Perry, Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Ruffalo of the “Hulk” fame will suspend any activities on the two social media platforms for the next 24 hours. Talk about making a sacrifice to make the world a better place. How will we survive the next 24 hours?

The move is being taken in support of the Stop Hate for Profit Campaign. The Stop Hate for Profit coalition declared that it will be joining in a coordinated week of action on Instagram this week, demanding parent company Facebook take action to address racism, hate, and disinformation on its platforms.

Apparently they are doing this to protest hate speech on Facebook and Instagram. Mark Zuckerberg has been heavily criticized over the last few years for not doing more to stop the proliferation of fake news and hate speech on Facebook.

Sacha Baron Cohen tweeted his support saying, “Facebook – stop spreading the hate, lies and conspiracies that inflame our societies!”

“I can’t sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation created by groups to sow division and split America apart — only to take steps after people are killed” Kim Kardashian West said. “Misinformation shared on social media has a serious impact on our elections and undermines our democracy.”

“I love that I can connect directly with you through Instagram and Facebook, but I can’t sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation – created by groups to sow division and split America apart – only to take steps after people are killed,” she tweeted.

Fortunately she also took the opportunity to let people know that she would be delaying the launch of her new Maternity collection by a day to Thursday.

And this is her recent Tweet:

Ms. Kardashian is well known for her intellect and her concern for social issues. She consistently uses social media to promote juts causes by posting images of herself and her sisters lounging around in bikinis as well as pics of her naked butt. Her husband Kanye West is currently running for President.

“Facebook wants you to believe that the company’s role in the death of the protestors in Kenosha was just an ‘operational mistake.’ But it wasn’t. It is just the latest casualty of Facebook’s choices designed to maximize profits,” Stop Hate for Profit said in a statement. “Our organizations as well as other experts have been warning Facebook for years about the problem of dangerous, potentially violent groups and individuals using Facebook. But time and time again they’ve failed to listen.”
