Travis Kalanick, the ousted Uber founder has joined the board of his friend’s medical tech startup Kareo inc.
According to the Irvine-based company, Kareo provides software as a service for independent medical practices.

Kareo also creates software for Health Record, Practice Management Software, and Billing Services to help practices engage with their patients.
Kalanick has been an angel investor in the company that has raised $125 million to date in venture capital, according to Bloomberg.
The startup was founded in 2004 by Dan Rodrigues. In 1997 Kalanick and Rodrigues co-founded music search company Scour.
