A new made for television movie starring Cher which is due out later this year was also produced by Katie Couric. Based on Time magazine’s February 2016 cover story by Josh Sanburn, “Flint, ” tells the story of how one woman (Cher) deals with the toxic water scandal in Flint, Michigan, and the effect it has on her family. It will air on Lifetime.
And Katie Couric’s day job with Yahoo news has given her the opportunity to have a lot of fun assignments, like sitting down for an interview with Betty White on the occasion of the legendary actress’ ninety fifth birthday. “I just appreciate the fact that people have been so kind to me all these years. The fact that I’m still working. That’s the thing I’m most grateful for—that I still get asked for jobs.”
On fellow female television journalist Megyn Kelly’s move from Fox News to NBC, Katie Couric told US Weekly, “I think it’s an exciting move for her. I think NBC is a great place. I have a lot of good friends who are at NBC. I think the world of [NBC chairman] Andy Lack and a lot of other people in leadership positions at the network, so I think it will be exciting for her. I’m happy for her.”
Well if rumors are to be believed, Katie may just be trying to get on NBC’s good side as she is reportedly looking to return to the show where she got her start, “The Today Show.” Now that the future of Yahoo is in doubt since the company’s sale, Katie Couric is probably looking towards her next gig.
AOL News claims that Katie Couric’s recent guest appearance on today may have actually been a try out for a permanent return. Lets see, first the Rams returned to Los Angeles after playing in St. Louis for 20 years, and now Katie might return to Today after more than 15 years. Are the Dodgers headed back to Brooklyn too?
