Seth Meyers has spoken out on the Russian hacks. The “Late Night” host criticized Donald Trump’s dismissal of its significance on Monday Night’s show.
Seth Meyers has been acting more like Jon Stewart when he hosted “The Daily Show” than either David Letterman or Conan O’Brien when they hosted “Late Night” on NBC. Meyers has been a lot more political than any of his predecessors. Perhaps this is part of his plan to carve out a niche for himself in the overloaded late night talk show world.

An early look at tonight's A CLOSER LOOK: Trump and Russia. https://t.co/KaXTLft507

In response to Donald Trump’s refusal to even consider the Russian hacks as having been a serious breach of American national security and his refusal to have daily intelligence briefings Meyers said, “you might expect an incoming president to take seriously the findings of the intelligence agencies that he’ll need to rely on as president.”
As to Donald Trump’s repeated claims that he won one of the biggest landslide victories in history in the Electoral vote, Seth Meyers said, “First of all, it was not one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history. It actually ranks 46th out of 58 presidential elections. To put that in Sunday cable TV rating terms, Trump’s not ‘The Walking Dead’ he’s the ‘Barefoot Contessa.’”
Seth Meyers also speculated as to why the Russian hackers revealed Democratic information, but not Republican e mails which they reportedly also have.
“So they only released the Democrats’ e-mails but not the Republicans’, though to be fair, what could possibly be in the Republican e-mails that was more embarrassing than what their candidate was saying out loud in public? Donald Trump is a hacked e-mail come to life. ‘Did you hear? Donald Trump made fun of the disabled.’ ‘In a private e-mail?’ ‘No. Into a microphone in an arena.’”

And Seth Meyers has also used his position as the host of “Late Night” to go after alt-right and to slam Trump on other issues like the Carrier deal.
