Australian woman abandoned 14 cats which ate each other; Only one cat survived

In Adelaide, Australia, a 43-year-old woman has been convicted of animal cruelty after 14 cats ate each other in her abandoned home.

Australian RSPCA inspectors found in Septemnber last year 13 dead cats and only one survivor.The surviving cat has recovered and found a new home.

The woman was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond and banned from owning animals.

RSPCA South Australia chief inspector Andrea Lewis told the BBC it was a “heartbreaking” case for staff.
