Emmy Awards experts predict Julia Louis-Dreyfus for fifth consecutive Best Actress win

According to the predictions of our Emmy Awards experts of Gold Derby predict Julia Louis-Dreyfus who has won four Best Comedy Actress Emmys in a row for her role as Selina Meyer on HBO’s “Veep, ” now she’s expected to take home her fifth.

Fourteen of 15 Emmy experts from major media outlets like TV Guide, Variety and Yahoo are predicting Louis-Dreyfus to earn a nomination, while 13 think she’ll prevail. their predictions make her career total to eight trophies.

Louis-Dreyfus won for acting on “Seinfeld” (supporting, 1996), “The New Adventures of Old Christine” (lead, 2006) and producing “Veep” when it won Best Comedy Series (2015).

Last year’s Best Comedy Actress nominees were: Edie Falco (“Nurse Jackie”), Lisa Kudrow (“The Comeback”), Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation”),  Amy Schumer (“Inside Amy Schumer”), Lily Tomlin (“Grace and Frankie”) and Louis-Dreyfus. Only three of these six are eligible again, as Falco, Kudrow and Poehler have all moved on to other projects.
