‘Catastrophic’ Wildfires Hit Western Australia

Residents are describing the blaze, which is still out of control, as a “fireball” which has destroyed everything in its path.

About 95 homes have been destroyed and three people are unaccounted for as “uncontained and out of control” wildfires ravage Western Australia.

Four firefighters have also sustained minor injuries as they tackled the blaze, which has scorched 125, 000 acres of farmland and forest so far.

It is believed the wildfires began after lightning struck on Wednesday.

Although there are concerns for those who went missing during the evacuation of fire zones, officials have stressed that they usually turn up later unharmed.
