Report: Netanyahu agreed to freeze building in settlements

US Secretary of State John Kerry says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to 24-7 video surveillance in Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Saeb Erekat, the secretary general of the PLO Executive Committee, said Saturday that US Secretary of State John Kerry had told Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas that Prime Minister Netanyahu had agreed to freeze building in West Bank settlements, Israeli YNET NEWS report.

Erekat said Abbas had also requested the formation of an international investigative committee regarding escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

US Secretary of State John Kerry says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to 24-7 video surveillance in Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Kerry added that Israeli officials and Waqf authorities will soon meet to discuss meeting tensions at the compound, Reuters report.

The American official further said that Netanyahu has committed to enforce the policy that allows Muslims to pray at the mosque.
