Palestinian hunger striker rearrested on leaving hospital

Mohammed Allaan has threatened to restart his fast if returned to administrative detention.

Muhammed Allaan, who refused food over 60 days in protest against his administrative detention as a terrorist suspect, was rearrested Wednesday morning when, after making a full recovery, he walked out of the Barzilai Hospital in Ashdod where he was receiving care. Police officers nabbed Allaan on a military warrant issued by the OC Southern Command and transferred him to a prison facility in central Israel.
