Amaya launches daily fantasy sports service StarsDraft.com

StarsDraft.com-090315L
Amaya, the Canadian parent company of PokerStars, has launched daily fantasy sports website StarsDraft.com.  At the moment, the service will be available in selected US markets and later through PokerStars.

In August Amaya announced the acquisition of Victiv, the daily fantasy sports operator, for an undisclosed sum. Under the arrangement, Victiv has been renamed as StarsDraft.

Starsdraft.com will continue to offer games featuring the four US major leagues in American football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey, as well as golf.

Upon the acquisition Victiv chief executive officer Matthew Primeaux said: “StarsDraft will combine Victiv’s innovative platform and experienced DFS team with Amaya’s expansive consumer base and operational excellence as the world’s preeminent online gaming brand.

“We intend to capitalise on what we believe is strong crossover between online poker players and daily fantasy sports.”

The changes of the service has been unveiled only days before the start of the NFL American football season this week on Thursday.
