Andrew Garfield was excited when he was first cast as Spider-man for the Amazing Spider-man movie series and even thanked his fans for ‘allowing him to live his childhood dream.’

Sadly, he was only ever to don the famous costume for two installments before being replaced as Sony decided to reboot the franchise once more.

The Impossible star Tom Holland is to take over web slinging duties. He will first appear as the superhero in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War before starring in a standalone film in 2017.

Well, that’s what is being said at the moment. No-one knows better than Andrew Garfield how suddenly these plans can change.
