Gwyneth Paltrow Repudiates ‘Conscious Uncoupling’ Remark

Gwyneth Paltrow

You remember “conscious uncoupling, ” don’t you? How could you forget it? That was the new phrase which was “coined” by Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow on her website Goop to describe her separation from now ex-husband Chris Martin. And she became a running joke for it, deservedly so.

Well now Paltrow has finally decided to distance herself from that phrase, passing the blame for its invention onto her website’s editorial director Elise Loehnen.

“When I announced that I was separating on the website, [Loehnen] titled the piece ‘Conscious Uncoupling’ and I had no idea, ” Paltrow said. “When something like that happens, I think everybody is like, ‘Oh, shit, .’ I just tell them that I think we are creating interesting discussions.”

Talk about passing the buck!

Sorry Gwyny, but we are not letting you off the hook that easily. Goop is your website and the term was used in your name. So you need to own up to it instead of blaming your editors.

Gwyneth Paltrow will now and forever be linked to “conscious uncoupling, ” just like George W. Bush is stuck with “misunderestimated.”
