The paradigm of a PCR test being performed in a specialized veterinary lab with prolonged turnaround times has now been broken.
“Veterinarians are sick of waiting up to one week to receive a PCR result. With Biogal’s PCRun, vets can now receive a PCR result within 75 minutes, ” says Amos Gershony, Biogal’s CEO.
“Conventional PCR testing procedure requires multiple steps, via expensive, time consuming and complicated devices called thermocyclers.”
For a veterinary lab to even set up a PCR lab, they need to spend tens of thousands of dollars. With PCRun, the company boasts, there is no need for a thermocycler. PCRun is flexible, meaning it can be used in a small animal veterinary lab and/or clinic. You simply purchase the kits only.
Now with PCRun, veterinary professionals purchase components of the PCRun kit for a fraction of the price and run the test at a fraction of the time, says Biogal.
