If you are a multi-billionaire casino magnate who has everything that he could ever need and who Republican presidential candidates are flocking to to woo for financial support for their campaigns, what would be your dream gift? Why a painting from amateur artist George W. Bush, of course.

The New York Times has reported that the former President Gave Sheldon Adelson one of his original paintings when the two men met at a Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Las Vegas last month. Bush the younger was the keynote speaker at the event.

Apparently the painting was of Mr. Adelson’s Singapore casino and hotel, the Marina Bay Sands. The former President took up painting after leaving office.

Mr. Adelson must have been thrilled. He is currently being sued for wrongful termination and that suit has brought to the surface allegations of influence peddling, forced prostitution and ties to the Chinese Mafia.

So were are sure that he was consoled and deeply touched by the gift and has now forgotten all of his worries. But Probably not.
