[WATCH] Paul McCartney takes stage to celebrate stepson’s college graduation

The band Phase5 got the best time of their life when Sir Paul McCartney joined the band to perform at his stepson, Arlen, Nancy Shevell‘s son, graduation party.

It all started last Saturday,  when the band, which plays rock and funk at everywhere from charity organizations to weddings, booked a gig at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

The singer’s wife booked the band and only later let on who she was married to. The party, she said, was for her son, who was graduating from Rollins College.

Not only was the former Beatle there, he led folks on the dance floor.

“We were really excited that he was the first person on the dance floor and remained there for our entire two-hour show, ” the band wrote on Facebook.

But that wasn’t all.

“Nothing would prepare us for the moment when he asked if he could sing a few with us!” the band wrote, calling it the “thrill of a lifetime.”

McCartney joined the group in a performance of “I Saw Her Standing There.”

“More than anything I feel really lucky that it happened, ” Walther told ABC affiliate WFTS.
