OWNER Randy Lerner jetted in to Aston Villa as talks of an impending £150 million sale escalated.

Former Arsenal and England star Tony Adams is believed to be heading up a consortium to take over at Villa Park.

Also on board is former Chelsea executive Paul Smith who is hoping to attract foreign investors to meet American tycoon Andy Lerner’s asking price.

Sources close to the club insisted Lerner’s visit was strictly routine and had nothing to do with any impending deal.
